SNURK, excellent work. I was wondering how do you calculate the individual Gflop figure ?

This I think has two reasons:
First was explained by Sekerob earlier in this thread. Photobucket telling the client to use a cached copy of the picture if it was cached earlier that same day, even if that picture had minor changes compared to the cached version. As I understand it this will at least get you an updated version the next day.

Second reason is that I'm still working on a fool-proof automated upload process of the signatures. I had to rewrite this since the conversion to the new server (Photobucket). With the old server I used simple FTP commands to upload. Photobucket doesn't support that (not on free accounts anyway). So I have to script my way through the web interface, that has the not so cool feature of random adds popping up. I hope to get it fool-proof in the next couple of days. Until then the signatures are generated automatically, but uploaded by hand, which can lead to small delays in the updating of signatures (I like to make sigs, but I'm not getting out of bed at 2 AM to upload then ).


The Gflop figure is the only data on the signature that I compose from 3rd party websites, since I don't have access to historical data from other crunchers then myself here at WCG. I take your points from the last 30 days from boincstats.com and calculate the average per day, leaving out the 2 highest and 2 lowest scoring days (for statistics sake). That divided by 100 is your Gflops. This whole process is done again from allprojectstats.com in case one of the two sites is down or has issues with their historical data (which recently happened). Now that's the magic behind the Gflops figure.
